Accessibility

Life at wants every student to be able to use this site. It is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What that means here

• Every control works with a keyboard, and a skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the content.
• Focus is always visible, and the campus picker returns focus to where you were when it closes.
• Text and controls meet contrast minimums on every background, including the dark front screen.
• Animation respects your system's reduced-motion setting. The scrolling campus names hold still, the tour shows every panel at once, and cards stop moving.
• Images that carry meaning have descriptions. Decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
• The site works without JavaScript. Campus links, pages, and the footer all render; only the picker and the save buttons need it.
• Text can be resized to 200 percent without losing content, and the layout works from 320 pixels wide.

Known limits

The campus apps themselves are separate sites with more complex screens, and their accessibility is described on each one. On this site, the animated tour is long on small screens; the same content is on each campus page in a plain layout.
